Hoity-Toity . . .
I've not heard that expression for many a long year. Mum used to say it, as in "Don't get so hoity-toity with me young lady." Hmmm. I must have been a sore trial to her at times as we really didn't get on when I was growing up. Another expression along similar lines was "getting too big for your boots". I've not heard that for years either.

I love the expression hoity-toity. It's used a lot in The Thin Blue Line. Brilliant show!
My mom use to say hoity-toity to me too and she also would remind me that I was "getting to big for my britches"
LOL I wasn't exactly the best kid in the west either :)
