Dorset

A few photos will have to suffice today, as I'm off travelling again, taking my middle daughter back to Uni up North - it's about a 6 1/2 hour journey . . .

Here are some photos of beautiful Dorset to keep you going until my return.

A view across Dorset from the top of Bulbarrow Hill - looking towards the Dorset Gap.

View from the top of Bulbarrow Hill - Hardy's "Vale of the little dairies" - the Blackmore Vale.

A pretty thatched cottage in the village where we stayed.

Threatening weather across the Dorset fields.

Another view of the Deer Park, where the young deer were leaping and cavorting like lambs.

The weir at Sturminster Mill.

The bridge cross the Stour, at Sturminster Mill.

Thanks for taking the time to post these, Jennie. You know I love them so. It seems that every time I see a cottage it is different. This one is huge, and some seem to be "row houses". Can you explain sometime? It's so basic to you, you can't imagine how clueless we are about some simple things. :)

Nancy - This particular cottage had a little extension next to it. However, we do have lots of cottages or houses which are linked together and called "terraced" houses. Or two joined together, and this would be semi-detached.

Kelli - I just missed taking a photo of the young deer leaping and bouncing about like spring lambs! It is an area I knew well when we lived in Dorset.

Kathy - glad you enjoyed the photos. Thanks for visiting.

Jennie, just came by to see if you had been here. My husband loves to look at your photos with me and enjoys seeing the villages and the countryside as much as I do.
