Cottage for renovation . . .

. . . complete with cats (but you'll have to double click on the photo!) We passed this on our way home today - it's between Hay-on-Wye and the T-junction to Hereford and Leominster. You can't see the bulge of the brick bits inbetween the half-timbering - all sorts of crazy angles!

I "think" someone may still be living in the bottom room on the right hand side because of the cats still in residence! Blimey - this is SO tumbledown . . . I wouldn't sleep there on a windy night!

What a lovely old house, in it's time it must have been beautiful. It would be fun to look it up on ancestry and see who lived there in the past.

Even in her tumbled down state you still gotta love her.
There is Romance and whimsy in these old tumble downs I think.
But gee when you click on the photo She is sure in need of a Fix -me - up!

That's a lovely looking house if you can see past "what needs doing", it looks a "good" house. Great photos.

Such a sad house. I hate to think of such a beautiful place falling apart like this one.

I knew a house that looked very like this one, that had two people living in it. There doesn't seem to be a straight line anywhere!

It has such character - even done up it would still have that character as it is SO old and not built according to any set of plans (and probably without any footings too!) That top window in the "right wing" probably went nearly all the way across once, until they blocked it up and put a beam from top to bottom! Then under the other roof window on the left - what was going on under that? The little bow window (with the vague outlines of cats in!) was obviously added much later. Fascinating and could be wonderful again. Bet they daren't slam any doors in this place!

It really is a beautiful old place. Character, indeed. I can see all the bulges and bends. It seems a wonder it's standing. And if someone actually lives there -- well, that's pretty scary.

Aaah, I used to pass this lovely old house often and am glad to see it is still standing, I remember seeing the cats - guess they must like the sunny windowsill.
