I saw this fabulous jet black poppy at Powis Castle yesterday and am kicking myself for not jotting down its full name. Does anyone recognize it? Is it really black or were my eyes deceiving me?!

i think its papaver somniferum flore pleno black- (a double flowered black paeony poppy apparently!)

Wow! I have never seen a black poppy but that is just beautiful. Or is it a mallow? They sometimes tend to look alike.
