Our eldest daughter Tamzin has just found that she has will be graduating from a BA in Archaeology with a First. It was a close run thing as her essays were 1/2 a mark off a first, but then her dissertation clinched it. We are SO pleased for her as we know how hard she worked - she is a slow but thorough reader, can't speed-read to save her life, so she always had to allow plenty of time for research. The last 6 months before her dissertation was finished was like hell on wheels.
Now we are looking forward to Graduation Day next Monday. It will be SO good to see her again.

What a wonderful reward for her hard work--and for all the cheering and encouraging you must have done from the stands! and isn't it nice that you have internet this morning!

That is so exciting - congratulations to her! My younger daughter had occasion to work on a dig in York a summer ago and greatly enjoyed it - it may be that she will do some when she starts university next year.

Thanks everyone - you've just brought tears to my eyes with your kind comments. I have missed you all so much without the internet working properly, but I am SO GLAD it is back today! Let's hope they get it fixed properly tomorrow.
