Gosh, when I think of the bitterly cold winter mornings when I went out selling collectables to keep the wolf from the door, getting up at 4.30 a.m. when all sane people were in bed! Making most of the children's Christmas pressies one year too - and I still make lots of presents for other little ones in the family, my elderly aunts etc. Old habits die hard.

I hate to think how most people would cope if there WAS a big crash - though I suspect it would be a case of male with largest gun survives . . .Bovey Bellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05798594086901897654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3639892272013528432.post-22542509985098492742008-04-07T20:08:00.000+01:002008-04-07T20:08:00.000+01:00An ongoing dilemma with me is self-reliance, just ...An ongoing dilemma with me is self-reliance, just how far to go? My life has been anything but stable, and I have been hugely self-reliant at some times and hardly at all at others. That was dependent on where we were and for how long. I've lived everywhere from the Alaskan bush to the remote hills of Kentucky, with several big cities thrown in. I'd much rather be rural and rely on my own wits and resources than be dependent on the public systems in place. They could go in a blink!
God bless you, Jennie. You are an inspiration.
Nancynancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16587048072191384586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3639892272013528432.post-48621982724861682112008-04-07T13:03:00.000+01:002008-04-07T13:03:00.000+01:00That was a really good read. I try to make most of our own cakes and jams etc. I never buy ready meals and we don't go out to buy all the latest gadgets, I wouldn't know one end of an IPod to the other.Pixiedusthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03230884853490373264noreply@blogger.com
